How to Teach Your Kid to Become an Entrepreneur

29-September-2016

As the generation of leaders is growing up, the new ways of raising your children have appeared. They proved to be very effective, as the Harvard graduate school of education and the National Foundation for teaching Entrepreneurship claimed that, “Youth who are taught about entrepreneurship show a positive change in attitude and strong success orientation, and are more likely to be focused on academic and professional achievements, aspirations and leadership.” As a parent you most probably would love to teach your kids skills that will help them to become successful in the future.

The first thing that you need to do is to give some space for brainstorming to your child. Actually, all of the plans for successful businesses came from crazy ideas, so let your kid dream big. Do not forget to give them a pencil and a piece of paper, so they can write down their ideas. You also need to show your child formalize these ideas. To inspire your kid allow him to play various games, but they definitely should not be limited only to PC games.

The other thing that you can do is to introduce your kid to a business plan. Yes, it sounds funny, but actually it is really helpful. It should be something simple, so they can learn the structure. There is a website Kidpreneurs.org, where you will find all necessary ideas for creating a business plan with your child.

Entrepreneurs are the ones who think different. In order you child to think and behave like one you have to support their successes and redirect their failures into seeing more opportunities. Teach them how to stay optimistic even when they fail.

Also try to invest into your child and his ideas. It does not mean that you just have to give your kid some money. Instead of it assign your children some tasks around the house and give them some amount of money for helping you. Also as it is done at any work place, review and evaluate the work they have done. It will teach them the basics of a business process.

So take a chance while your children are still little and are listening to you and help them become successful entrepreneurs in the future.
